‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood:’ Margot Robbie, Brad Pitt, and Leonardo DiCaprio Prank ‘Kimmel’ on Way to Premiere

Tuesday, July 23, 2019

The audience of “Jimmy Kimmel Live” got the surprise of a lifetime Monday night, when Margot Robbie, Brad Pitt, and Leonardo DiCaprio all appeared on the show as they made their way to the “Once Upon A Time In Hollywood”  premiere.

Kimmel was in the middle of his monologue when Robbie sauntered across the stage. The actress was followed by Pitt and then DiCaprio, who actually stopped to shake the talk show host’s hand.

“No big deal,” the caption of the clip read, along with the actors’ names. You can watch their entrances below.

“This is not some kind of alleyway,” Kimmel told Pitt.

“This is the alleyway,” Pitt affirmed, pointing at the stage. The audience screamed in delight, with one member even doing the “bow down” sign.

“Jimmy Kimmel Live” is taped in Hollywood, just across the street from where the movie premiere was being held. Robbie managed to change from a black dress to a white gown between her appearance on “Kimmel” and the red carpet.

In the film, DiCaprio plays struggling actor Rick Dalton and Pitt his stunt double Cliff Booth. Robbie plays Sharon Tate, and her story intersects with theirs while 1960s Hollywood serves as the backdrop.

DiCaprio, Pitt and Robbie will ostensibly be interviewed by Kimmel after the premiere, along with director Quentin Tarantino.

Tourists flock to Hollywood Boulevard — home of TCL Chinese Theatre (formerly Grauman’s), the El Capitan, and the Dolby Theatre —  in hopes of seeing movie stars at premieres or talk show tapings.

This isn’t the first time Kimmel has surprised audiences. Back in 2017, a tour group visiting Hollywood Boulevard were brought into the Dolby when the host revealed they were actually in attendance at the Oscars.
